I see once in a while "face hunter" guy at various fashion kind of parties or event in Berlin or stockholm or paris or where ever in europe, but i have never met anybody who's job title is "Fruits hunter". That is very exclusive. I really want to see this film.
"face hunter"って言う有名なストリートスナップサイトの彼にはベルリンだろうがストックホルムだろうがパリだろうがファッションのイベントだったら結構頻繁に見かけるけど、自分の仕事を"フルーツハンター"って名乗る人には今まで一度もお目にかかった事が無い。これはもっと特別だ。このフィルムを是非みたい。

One of my big excitement being easy to meet musicians, promoters, event organizers or journalists or simply whoever who experienced the time during 90's in Berlin, is to listen to their stories how the club culture and music scene all started after the wall came down in '89. This includes some stories from west Berlin where the first Love parade was organized, but mainly stories from east Berlin where everything was not decided or clear which building belongs to which persons. Therefore it all started naturally by bringing sound system to a cellar of a former flower shop to organize a bar or party called "flower shop" Illegally to have a GOOD TIME!
i always have goosebumps when I hear how was the first WMF club, how long did it last at toilet bar on Rosenthalerplatz, what was the menu at Eschloraque bar, who was there at the door? what kind of music were they playing? who organized parties at Alexanderplatz TV tower, and why it had to be stopped? These sort of stories are just astonishing!!!
My friend Naho who is a musician herself, gave me this book called "sound and word" by Masaaki Hara when i was in Tokyo. The book consists of various article that he wrote about albums from miles davis, jim o'rourke, POLE, san ra, jay dee, mosdef, apparat and many others. Since I am totally away from Japanese music magazines availabilities, i really don't read information about musicians. Actually i have just learned that Flying Lotus is a nephew of Alice Coltrane!!! I like it like that to be information-less when i listen or see whatever it is.
So now comes the point. I have read an article about POLE "3" in the book. Very nice. So interesting to read words that describe music and sound. somebody said that's like expressing the architecture by dancing. I have briefly translated the article to POLE and he seemed to be very satisfied. Especially because he is going to have a gig in Tokyo, i believe next month at Unit club. i would go there with the book and ask for sign on it which now i remember that i should have asked it yesterday to him at a sunny beer garden....it was sunny and warm. summer started in berlin.
壁が崩れた直後の90年代をベルリンで過ごした音楽家やプロモーター、オーガナイザーやジャーナリストに会う事が割と簡単な立場にいてすごく楽しみなのがその当時の話を直接聞く事だ。クラブカルチャーがどうやって始まっていわゆるベルリンサウンドがどうやって起こって行ったのか。そんな話の中には初回ラブパレードが行われた旧西ベルリンの話もたまに含まれるけれどもほとんどの話が旧東ベルリンでの話で、当時はどの建物が誰の所有物なのかがはっきりしない（例えば元ユダヤ人家族の所有物だった建物が戦後旧東ドイツに吸収されてそれが崩壊した８９年にそれを誰に帰属させるべきなのか不明だった時）、国を立て直す事が最優先で騒音問題なんかは二の次、なんて言うどさくさが出来た時代に、サウンドシステムと簡単なビジュアルセットを花屋さんだった地下に持ち込んで「花屋」さんって言うクラブを勝手に始めちゃうような時代、なーんて話は本当に聞いてて楽しい。
最初のWMFクラブがどうだったのか、ローゼンターラーの交差点の地下トイレにあったって言うクラブは何ヶ月の命だったのか？今では想像がつかないほど観光地になっているホクシャーホーフにあるバー、エシュロラックのドリンクメニューはどんな内容だったのか？そのバーのドアマンは誰だったのか？どんな音楽を当時流していたのか？アレックスのテレビ塔で誰がパーティーをオーガナイズしてなんで数回で中止しなければ行けなかったのか？なんて話しを聞くたびに鳥肌が何度も立つ。
自身もミュージシャンのなほちゃんがこの前日本へ帰った時に「音楽から解き放たれるために」著者: 原 雅明, と言う本をプレゼントしてくれた。前からネットで見ていて読みたいと思ってただけにすごく嬉しかった。内容はmiles davisやjim o'rourke, POLEやsan raや jay deeやmosdef, apparatなんかのすばらしい混ざり具合の電子音楽を中心としたレコード評だ。僕は日本語の音楽雑誌が簡単に手に入る環境にいないからほとんど音楽に関する文字情報がない。と言う事をひじょーーーに嬉しくも思っているタイプなので、つい最近フライングロータスがアリスコルトレーンの甥っ子だって事を初めて知ってすごく驚いた。
それで前置きがスゴーク長かったんだけど、この「音楽から解き放たれるために」の中のPOLE"3"の批評をシュテファンaka POLEに簡単に訳して聞かせてあげたら満足げだった。（英訳されたら良いのに！）特に彼は来月？東京のUNITでギグがあるから嬉しそうだった。僕だったらこの本を持ってサインしてもらうな。っていうかこれから会うミュージシャンのそれぞれのページにサインしてもらうのは良いアイデアだな。と言うほどミュージシャンを知っている訳では全くないんだけど。ほほほシュテファン。
Three different group of people shares one studio is not a surprising thing, but to make 3 different kinds of Flyer for the same event is unusual. Next Wednesday. I will go and see their (must be) super slick new studio!
三つのグループが一つのスタジオをシェアするのは珍しい事じゃないけれども、お披露目パーティーのフライヤーをそれぞれが作るのは珍しい。来週の水曜日。（多分絶対）スーパースリックで美しい彼らの新しいスタジオを見に行く。

Today is so exciting day for me. So many nice and various ideas are coming from different friends and they are very organically self-developing and merging together!!! How nice! That's the way it should be! i am talking about a project that i am working on since this day, for Asics and Onitsuka Tiger that will take place during Fashion week in early July here in Berlin. Wow! I will for sure update when the time comes.

I was kind of coming in and out of JUTOJO office when they were creating this video for Efdemin. So i knew they were working with old books about Chicago. And now it is officially released. Efdemin, There will be singing (Chicago). A town that is famous for wind and thick pizza (ahaha). And it is written Chikago in German, which i like a lot. Beautiful music and video. I have to buy this CD.
今日は興奮する日だ。沢山のアイデアが数人の友達から送られてきていて、それらアイデアは最初から意図して出来上がった訳ではなく自然と独自に発展して、それら別々だったアイデアが今一つにまとまり始めている。自然発生的なのがひじょーに気持ちがいい。いつでもそうだったら良いのにと思う。何を話しているかと言うとこの日から始まった欧州アシックスとオニツカタイガーが行う７月頭のベルリンファッションウィークの時に行うプロジェクトの話。ここでのアップデートはもう少し日が必要だけど後日絶対。
それと。。。
JUTOJOがEfdeminの為に古いシカゴの本を使って作ってる時に彼らのオフィスに出入りする事が多かったので音楽ビデオをやってるのは知ってたけど今日がそのリリース日。EfdeminのThere will be singing (Chicago)。風と厚いピザで有名な街。ドイツ語でChikagoと書く書き方が僕は好きだ。音楽もビデオも素晴らしい。このCDは買う。

Yes, everybody knows Sex really Sells. But not so many Japanese knows that the positioning of Asics outside of its mother country is way beyond their expectation if their brand images are still stuck with their elementary school time. This is a good example.
I really like his work.
