i am now making 3 mood books for onitsuka tiger in europe for their autumn winter 2011 collection. design is by jessica, and photos are taken all in Japan by three my best friends. Shingo, Taxi and Aram. today, i have received sample books just to see the thickness and the feeling of the paper. I love them. so nice.
アシックスヨーロッパの為に今三冊のムードブックを作っている。デザインはジェシカ、写真は僕の三人の親友宮司、たかし、アラムにお願いして全部日本で撮影をする。今日は無地状態の本がサンプルとして家に来た。最高。すごくいい。

If I really go back to my first-first musical experience in my life, it would be something that i remembered very recently that i had to pause everything when i remembered. I remember taking a nap on tatami mattress at my grand parents home in Kamata Tokyo when i was maybe 3 or 4, i was always listening to this kind of construction constant rhythm somewhere in my consciousness. Not too close, not too far away but for sure this massive rhythm was always there while i was sleeping. It's TECHNO. It kind of make sense to me. ahaha.
本当に自分の一番最初の最初の音楽体験にさか戻るとすると、多分ごく最近思い出して思い出した時にはっとして動きが止まった幼少の頃の思い出に行き当たる。それは蒲田の祖父母の家の二階の畳の上で昼寝をとっていた3歳か4歳の時、近くもなく遠くもない所で継続的に鳴っていたこのポールを打ち付ける巨大な音が意識のどっかで必ず鳴っていた記憶がある。全くテクノだって思ってすごく腑に落ちた。あはは。

Then, this track was released in 1980 so it could be more like my first favorite song? I remember i was taken to a DISCO called "new york new york" in Shinjuku when i was 13 by a guy who was riding Mitsubishi Jeep back then. and Danced for the first time with this track left me such a big impact to my life. Dance floor and a mirror ball and all you can drink cheap ugly whiskey water! Cheap Glamorous in Shinjuku in 80! This track is also one of those tracks that you are almost forced to move your feet or hands right after the needle dropped to the record.sooo Timeless.
この曲は1980年リリースだから、これで人生で一番最初に好きになった曲とできるかな？新宿にあったニューヨークニューヨークって言うディスコ！に中学生で13の僕をジープに乗ってた知り合いが連れてってくれてこの曲で踊ったのは僕の人生に大きなインパクトを残したなーって思う。ダンスフロアにミラーボールに飲み放題の安いウィスキー水割り！チープグラマラスin新宿80年！この曲はまた針がレコードに落ちた瞬間に足や腕が動く曲でもある。soooo タイムレス。

What would you say if you are asked "What is your first favorite song/track of all times?". Again i have to think about it for Family and Friends catalogue. Hmmmm, but for sure this will be one of them. when i saw it on TV in Japan, I remember i was so high. It was released in 83 then i was already 16! hmmm that can not be my FIRST favorite song then. I have to think about it again. hmmm
もし「人生の中で一番最初に好きになった曲は？」って聞かれたらなんて答える？Family and Friendsのカタログの為にまた考えなきゃ行けない。なんだろう、って考えるとこの曲が入ってくる。この曲をたしかベストヒットUSAで見た時にすごくハイになったのを覚えてる。83年リリース。ってことはもう１６だったんだ、それじゃー一番最初に好きになったって言うのに無理があるなー。また考えないと。うーん。

It blew me away.

my first encounter to hip hop music was in 84? on the street in Chicago where i went as one of the school excursion while i was in Michigan for a year as an exchange student. I saw several kids rapping on streets with the boombox. I think i didn't know how to take it, because i don't remember now about it so much. then i went back to Japan and was influenced musically a lot by friends who were listening to Melon back then. 85?
ヒップホップミュージックとの最初の遭遇は留学していたミシガンの高校の美術遠征旅行みたいな時に行ったシカゴの路上で数人がブーンボックスに合わせてラップしているのを見たとき。多分84年？でも多分そこではそれをどうやって受けとめていいのか分からなかったんだと思う。なぜかと言うとそれがどうだったのかすごく記憶が曖昧だから。それで日本へ帰ってきてメロンを聞くような友達たちから音楽的に沢山影響を受けた。85年？
