Yes, that is true. We can not organize KOI KLUB at Japanese embassy. It was the answer from a cultural responsible person that i met this morning at the Japanese Embassy in Berlin. The reason was because there might be German people who feel uncomfortable to see any kind of Japanese event that involves any kind of 'entertainment' in this time. Japanese embassy hope that soon the atomic plant and tsunami disaster situation will be settle down so that this kind of event can be organized there. But of course nobody knows when.

I am very disappointed about this decision not because we can not do it there but because the reason of No is something I can't understand for our event that aims is to 'share the feeling towards the disaster in Japan with visitors who come to the event and pray for the safety and reestablishment of country'. This decision denies the good will of people who want to do something Good.

But that's the reality I have to face now. I tried at least. And I guess that responsible person must have thought very deep and well so that she is also struggling in such a big organization.

The alternative location would be most likely at HBC. I am now finalizing the date and time. Please wait for the update that comes here later today or tomorrow......

大使館前で見かけた「エジプト人は日本人と共にある」

今朝大使館に行き、文化担当の人に先週送った企画書の内容を説明した。答えは話し合いの最初の五分で出ていた。それは「実施できません」と言う事だった。その理由は現在の日本の状況の中、エンターテイメントを含むイベントを大使館内で行うという事はドイツ人の人達に不快感を感じさせる可能性があるからだった。そして大使館としては出来るだけ早くそのようなイベントを実施できるように望んでいるという事も伝えられた。それがいつになるかは今のところ誰にも分からないけど。

とても残念だった事は、僕らが考えた企画を大使館で行うことができないという事ではなくて、そのドイツ人の人達に不快感を感じさせる可能性があるからと言う理由だ。これはぼくらの最初から伝えていた目的「ベルリン在住を中心とした日本人の音楽家、美術家によるパフォーマンスを通じて日本文化の多様性を発表すると同時に、大震災の速やかな救済と復興に向けた思いと希望を国籍を問わず来場してくれた人達と共に共有する」に見られるような「良い事をしたい」と言う思いを大使館としては生かせないと言う事になるから。

それでもそれが現実なんだったらそれに向き合うしか無い。担当の方も深く検討して出してくれた結論なんだろうと思うし大きな組織では即動けない事情も勿論沢山あるんだろう。残念だが。。。

それで別の場所を探した。色々なイベントでおなじみのHBCで行うことになると思う。大使館では募金活動は表立って出来ないという事だったので出した前述の実施目的だったけど、これではれて募金活動や救援物資を募る事もできる。それの方が良かったと今では思う。詳細は今日もしくは明日発表します。。。
