I really wonder how many sneaker freaks are out there in the world. I don't know how many people really dig into an (sometime very personal) love-to-sneaker article that is featured in the sneaker freaker magazine from Australia! I am one of them. Some of the crazy stories in the mag sometime just make me laugh till i cry. They are surely about sneakers but at the same time it's more about the way of life. That's one of the reason i like about sneaker freaker magazine. It's really cool. And Woody is the man who started the magazine in 2002. It takes him 24 hours first to go to UK, and then he needs to fly back to Berlin for another 2 hours or so. I totally understand that he can't think the world is getting smaller. He will bring #18 issue to our "Family and Friends", so that we will be able to experience his latest 3D effect cover. I prepared many 3d glasses. Yes!

世界にどれくらいのスニーカーお宅が存在するのかよく考える。どれくらいの人がその世界では有名なこのオーストラリア発のスニーカーフリーカーマガジンに載っている記事を掘ってるんだろう？って。僕はその一人だ。毎号読んでいる訳じゃないけどたまに読むと涙を流すまで笑い続けなくちゃ行けないような信じられないスニーカーにまつわる話が沢山出てくる。スニーカーを話題の中心に、でもその先には自分らしい生き方を考える上で示唆に富んだ話が沢山書かれていて、それがこの本を単なる「どれだけレアか？」以上の雑誌にしていると思う。そしてこのWoodyが2002年に雑誌を開始した。オーストラリアから２４時間かけてイギリスへ行き、乗り換えて２時間かそこらかけていつもベルリンへやってくる。世界が小さくなったなんてどうして考えられる？って言うWoodyの事を良く理解できる。かれは最新の#１８号を持参して3Dの表紙を僕らにお披露目してくれる。僕らは3D眼鏡を沢山用意した。

Tillmann Lauterbach is a Ibiza born Paris based German fashion designer. I didn't know his collection and I have never met him but it has been fun mailing him these weeks. I really like his collection now. I like this style from Autumn Winter 2010. And the shoes must be the one he made with Onitsuka Tiger.
ティルマン　ラウターバッハはイビザ生まれ、パリ拠点のドイツ人ファッションデザイナーだ。彼の事も彼の服の事も知らなかったけどここ数週間メールのやり取りが楽しい。今では彼のコレクションを知って好きになった。秋冬2010のこのスタイルが好きだ。この靴がオニツカタイガーと作った靴だと思う。

So i am very much looking forward to seeing him in Berlin. His Onitsuka Tiger collaboration sneakers are planned to be out in September 2010. Very nice sneakers. He is going to bring many inspirational objects and make his room at 'family and friends'.
なので、彼とベルリンで会うのがすごく楽しみだ。オニツカタイガーとのコラボレーションのスニーカーは９月にリリース予定。これもすごくいい。彼は'family and friends'に沢山のインスピレーショナルグッズを持って来て部屋を飾る。

kai von rabenau is not only a photographer but also a publisher of famous interview magazine "mono.kultur" which you can find everywhere internationally including Tokyo. It was kai's suggestion to name our gallery space "family and friends". This shows how much involvement he has in the project. He is going to photograph our gallery space on day before the opening.
kai von rabenauは写真家であるだけでなく有名なインタビューマガジン"mono.kultur"の出版者でもある。今は世界中で買えて勿論日本でも買える。"Family and Freinds"と言う名前はKaiの案だった事から彼のプロジェクトに対する関わり度合いが分かる。彼はオープンの前日現場の撮影をしてくれる。

Zen and Yuko both living in Berlin as modelers. I wouldn't be able to meet such a high skilled model maker if i was living in Japan. Japanese community here in Berlin is so small that's why I could get to know them. What I can do will be much limited without them. Zen made beautiful wooden boxes for invitation card, Yuko draws all the graphic images of Family and Friends installation model.
禅さんとゆうこちゃん。もし日本に住んでいたら彼らのようなスキルを持った人たちに会うことはできなかったと思う。ベルリンの日本人コミュニティーは小さいのでありがたい事に遭遇できた。もし彼らがいなかったら僕の出来る事の範囲はすごく小さなものになる。今回は禅さんは招待状を入れるきれいな木製の箱を、ゆうこちゃんはFamily and Friendsの全てのインスタレーションをビジュアル化してくれた。

左にいるのはロゴ、フライヤー、ポスターその他を作ったJulie。右にいるのはこれからティーザービデオを作るToby。二人はJUTOJOの二人。

That's the title of our new project. Family stands for Onitsuka and ASICS and the firends stands for all the collaboration partners they worked together. "Family invites their friends" is the key concept. The event will be taking place from Wednesday night till Saturday evening during Fashion week in Berlin. We have two more weeks to go.

It is always the same procedure whether it is a big project or small. You have to make a STRONG vision (at sofa), simulate it in mind again and again (also at sofa), talk about it again and again with the team (somewhere outside), start to doubt about it again and again (of course on sofa), fighting with time (at desk or on bike), trying to make best things out of it.

Even so, i think this project is so special. we have 9 collaboration partners who have very different and unique characters and styles who are from amsterdam, barcelona, paris, milan, tokyo, berlin and australia! It's so cool. I am learning a lot through this project. I don't know if it is a right thing to compare it by nationalities, but i see lots of differences. Very Very interesting. Yes! that's what I dreamed to do. Yes! I am living in my dream now. and I am happy.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS。これが次のプロジェクトのタイトルだ。家族はオニツカタイガーとアシックスを意味して。友達は彼らが一緒に働いたコラボレーションパートナーの意味だ。家族が友達を招待する。と言うのがキーとなるコンセプト。このプロジェクトはエキシビションと言う形で７月第一周目に行われるベルリンのファッションショウ期間中に行われる。水曜日の夜オープンで土曜日まで続く。後２週間ある。

プロジェクトを行うのはそのプロジェクトの大きさに関わらずいつも同じ過程だ。まず最初に強いビジョンを持って（ソファーで）、頭の中でシュミレーションを何度も行って（ソファーで）、プロジェクトチームの核となる人たちと何度も話し合いをして（外で）、何度も疑念にかられて（ソファーで）、時間と戦って（デスクで、自転車で）、手持ちのコマからベストを作り出そうとする。

そうだとしても今回のは特別だ。招待する友達（コラボレーションパートナー）が９人いる。それぞれユニークで強い性格を持っていて、これを国民性と結びつけても良いのか分からないけど、それぞれオランダ、フランス、ドイツ、イタリア、オーストラリア、日本からやってくるそれぞれのリクエストは調整する役の僕らをぎょっとさせる事もあるけれども、同時にひじょーに多くの事を学ばさせてもらっている。これが僕が昔からやりたかった事。夢見ていた事。全く躊躇無く言うけれども、僕は今夢を現実に生きている。って自分で思う。ありがとうございます。
