I am very curious how this show will look like. Again, i have no clear connection between these 4 artists. That must be a very good sign.
この展覧会がどうなるのかすごーく気になる。また同じだけどこの4人のアーティストがクリアに結びつかない。それは絶対良いサインなんだと思った。
Curated by a masked art critique based in London Sara Stitson, four artists will be showing their plate painting at GALLERY TARGET. Painter Tomoo, musician Jim O'Rourke, photographer Masayuki Shioda and photographer and film maker Peter Sutherland. All these four artists share a passion for music, so interpreting these traditional Japanese plates as records makes for a compelling exhibition.

by the way, once peter surtherland was showing his photo works at circle culture in berlin. I asked him and took photo of him and put him on "what's you're wearing today" page inside of my fanzine KOI MAG. That's Loooong time ago.
昔このピータサザーランドがベルリンのサークルカルチャーって言うギャラリーで写真の展示している時に、写真を撮らせてもらって僕が当時作ってたKOI MAGって言うファンジンの"what's you're wearing today"のページに載せさせてもらった事がある。昔の話だけど。
I have received agin nice CD and the poster. I LOVE IT. They are all hand made and hand printed by people at HOME. I really like how they care about print and the paper. It has this immediate timeless-ness feeling. I think.
そしてまたCDとポスターが来た。今回も最高。全て手作り＆手刷り。いつも違う紙の質が好きだ。即タイムレスになるこの感じ。なんだと思う。
I can't picture a clear connection between HOME and MODE2. I think that's a really good sign that it is going to be a nice party. See you there.

In the year 2006, we made a series of Big Shoes for Onitsuka Tiger. All Berlin based Japanese model makers and craft workers, Zen, Norio and Yuri made it possible. I feel it was loooong time ago.
2006年にオニツカタイガーの為にBig Shoesを作った。ベルリン在住モデラー禅さん、のりお君、ゆりちゃんがこれを可能にしてくれた。すごーーく昔な気がする。
The size was about 60cm wide x 30cm height, the weight was about 20 kg.
大きさは60cmx35cmで重さは20kgほどだった。
We were very lucky that it was still possible to pack it into zen's suits case to bring it to Barcelona where we were invited to present it at 'untitled' show at Bread and Butter. It was very hot in Barcelona.
バルセロナのブレッド＆バターの（当時はバルセロナで行われていた）'Untitled'と言うショウスペースでこの靴を展示することになり、禅さんのスーツケースに毛布でくるんで持参した。バルセロナは暑かった。

It was so much fun traveling with Zen. At our hotel, we kept on polishing it till the last minutes.
確かこれが禅さんとのバルセロナ初トラベル。ホテルの部屋で最後の最後まで二人で磨き続けた。良い思い出。
Then we were asked to create more.
その後追加作成の依頼が来た。
This one was 'Hanafuda - Japanese card game version. On the shoe sole, there is a swimming koi fish curving. Only visible when you flip it.
これは花札バージョン。靴底には泳ぐ鯉のモチーフが彫られている。ひっくり返さないと見れないけど。
We created 6 Big Shoes all together. They were 1) Hanafuda - Japanese card game, 2) Shogi - Japanese Board game , 3) Gundam, 4) Machi, city scape - 5) sawayaka, refresh and 6) Kingyo - goldfish. They went to Australia, UK, Amsterdam, Paris and to Berlin.Ah and also to NY.
最終的に６つのBig Shoesの作成依頼を受けた。それらは1) 花札、2) 将棋, 3) ガンダム, 4) 街, 5) さわやか, 6) 金魚の異なるテーマで作られ、オーストラリア、イギリス、アムステルダム、パリ、ベルリン, ニューヨークへ行き展示された。
Why i am posting this is because recently I found this one by Nike. For me it's ok, because i think ours are much cooler. Actually, I know a guy in this video, E-da kun, who I know through one of my friend from my high school. It was like 20 years ago. very cool guy who attended the ceremony in red shirts and black tie and suits with his father also in the same outfit. ahaha, E-da kun working at W+K in Tokyo. Cool man.
なんで今になってこのBig Shoesのポストをしたかって言うと最近これをみたから。でも僕らの靴の方が断然かっこいいと思うから全然問題ない。このビデオに出てくる飯田君の事は大学時代に友達を通して知ってる。成人式に父親と赤シャツ黒スーツで出席した話を覚えてる。
