KYOTO 4

So, I think this will be my last post from our three weeks Japanese travel. Phew! I did it. I finally made it. These goes to all my friends in Tokyo, to my family, to my friends in Berlin and all over Europe. Love is the message! Love is the message! Love is the message YO!

Now i feel a bit sad because I don't know when I go back to Japan next time. I want to go to Amalfi coast in Italy again and I want to go to NYC as well. But Japan is my home country. I will come back sooner than the last time.

One thing i want to mention is........

we can easily be blind and not appreciating our surroundings if we live there for a long time. It sometime helps to go out from your comfortable area and look back where you were and realize how nice it was. But I think it's just a way how you look at it and how you take it even if you are still there.

Japan for sure is the land of surprise and uniqueness. Vending machine on street is for sure way beyond the imagination of Europeans for example. Bamboo basket being used at Japanese kitchen is a piece of craft work. Japanese family crest is the ultimate simplicity and beauty of design!

Akira Kurosawa film was not respected as masterpiece in Japan until American and European started to appreciate his films. Takeshi Kitano's film was never taken serious in domestic market because he was only a comedian but reputation was completely changed after again American and European praised his work. I really want to be the first one to say "THIS IS THE COOLNESS" when something unique come out from Japan. Much much MUCH faster than Europeans or Americans. We judge it by ourselves. And I think that is coming very very VERY soon.

So that was the last words from my travel. It was great. Thank you very much. I hope you enjoyed it!

これが日本滞在三週間の最後のポストになる。やった！やり遂げました！一連のポストは僕の東京にいる友達に、それから僕の家族に、僕のベルリンの、そしてヨーロッパにいる友達に送ります。愛がメッセージ！愛がメッセージ！愛がメッセージ！です！

でも少し寂しい。なんでかって言うと次に帰るのがいつになるのか分からないから。正直イタリアのアマルフィー海岸にも行きたいし、ニューヨークにも行きたい。でも日本は母国。前回よりも早く帰ると思う。

一つ最後に書きたい。。。。何かと言うと。。。。

長く同じ場所にいるとどうしてもその場所の良い所が見えにくくなる。だからたまに違う場所に行って距離を置いて自分がいた場所を眺めるのはすごく良い。でも距離も勿論大事だけどやっぱりどんな視点を持って物事を日々受け取るかって事が一番大事なんだと思う。

日本はとにかく驚きと独創性の国だ。道に置かれている自動販売機一つとって見てもヨーロッパ人の想像を遥かに超えた所でのしのぎ合いになっている。台所で使われる竹製のざるは工芸品だ。日本の家紋は無駄を省いた究極の美学だ。

黒澤明の映画はヨーロッパ人やアメリカ人が賞賛するまでマスターピースとしては扱われていなかったって聞く。北野武の映画もコメディアンと言う事もあってやっぱりヨーロッパ人やアメリカ人がほめ讃えるまで日本国内では冷遇されてきた。今後日本からユニークな物が現われたとしたら僕はヨーロッパ人よりもアメリカ人よりも誰よりももっともっと早く一番最初に「これが素晴らしい」と皆に大声で言いたい。もしそれが日本人としては近すぎて判断が困るような場合であったとしても。自分で自分の文化を胸を張ってどうだすごいだろうと外に向けて言いたい。そんな時は多分思っている以上に早くやってくる気がする。すごーく早く。

そんな事を感じることができた日本滞在は本当に有意義な期間だった。どうもありがとうございます。楽しんでくれた事を祈っています！

Me : Can I take photo of you?写真撮っても良いかな？
Colorful guy : yes, that's ok. but why?良いけどなんでですか？
Me : i like your orange out fit especially vintage ASICS running shoes.いや君のオレンジな格好がいいから。特にそのアシックスのビンテージランニングシューズがとっても良い。
Colorful guy : ah, ok. i like your girl friends scarf. i like the color.あーそれじゃー。僕も彼女のスカーフが良いなーって思ってた。
Me : yes, we know. what do you do?何してるの？
Colorful guy : i originally came from tokyo and living in Kyoto. But now i am moving to Tottori (western part of Japan) to start farmer life with my friends.元々東京で今は京都に住んでてこれから友達と畑を耕す生活をする為に鳥取に行く予定。
Me: that's cool.へーそれはいいね。
Colorful guy : where are you from?どっから来たんですか？
Me: we are from Berlin.ベルリン。
Colorful guy : you are Japanese but how did you manage to live in Berlin?日本人でベルリンに住んでるってどうやってやったんすか？
Me: I quit my job in Tokyo and started to travel and eventually i start to live in Berlin.やってた仕事を辞めて旅にでて最後ベルリンにたどり着いたんだよ。
Colorful guy : wow that's cool, my life isn't that cool, i just go to Tottori.すげー。おれなんて鳥取行くだけだもんな。
Me: hey you never knows i was in Nepal before i went to Berlin. Maybe Tottori is the entrance to the world.そんなの分からないよ。おれだってベルリン行く前はネパールにいたんだから鳥取が世界への窓口になるかもしれないよ。
Colorful guy : No, I don't think so.そっかなー。
Me: You'd better start English. then something WOW might happen to you.英語を始めた方が良いよそしたらなんかWOWが起こるかもよ。
Colorful guy : Really?ほんとかなー？
Me: ya sure. 本当だってー。
