YES but NO
It has been one year since the tsunami and Fukushima nuclear disaster, and we want to honour the occasion with a special edition of our monthly Koi Klub party. We are calling it YES but NO. The name makes space for critique of the Japanese government's response to the disaster, for acknowledgment of healing that has taken place as well as of persisting pain, and for a celebration of Japanese culture and communitarian spirit.
Koi Klub happens on the 11th of each month, regardless of the day of the week or the weather. We get together for music and performance and each other, and we try to make sure that our creative and intellectual life is part of our social life.
For our special edition of Koi Klub this month we will have a screening of Radioactivists, a new documentary exploring the issues around nuclear power in Japan after the disaster, and producers Julia Leser and Clarissa Seidel will be on hand to answer questions. There will be live music, short live set by Robert Lippok , a DJ set from Yoichiro Sezaki and delicious Japanese food from Okawari.
So, please join us at HBC on Sunday the 11th of March for avery nice evening: a dance, a drink and a good conversation.
